Scholarship

Sig Delts love to have fun, but we also study very hard. Academic excellence and integrity are key to our success as a chapter and as individuals. Our Scholarship Chair is constantly working to provide us with support. She organizes a variety of academic aids and resources, as well as individual rewards for strong grades and academic improvement. As the “Skippy Jar” and our grade “brag book”is passed around each week at our chapter meeting, girls excitedly place slips of paper with their names on it in the jar if they have not missed any classes all week, in hopes of winning a prize. Our scholarship paddle is a coveted honor in which a sister is nominated by a fellow sister for acheiving an exceptionally high grade. Our sisters are also active in several academic honor societies and programs, such as Phi Eta Sigma, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta, and many more. In addition, you will continuously find our members’ names on the Dean’s List, as they strive to maintain a high GPA. Through the supportive system that Sigma Delta Tau offers its members, we are able to acheive our fullest academic potential.

Sisterhood

With the coming of each new year, exciting social events are always in the works! From our Semi-Formal in the Fall semester, our New Member Formal in the Spring semester, our constant stream of exchanges, to our football block Saturdays, the Sig Delts are always having a blast! Sisterhood events are some of the most enjoyable because they are with our fellow sisters. Some of our favorites are Crush Party, sisterhood events and Greeks on the Gridiron! We love to spend quality time here with one another!

 

Panhellenic Involvement

Sig Delt women participate in and attend a variety of activities and events! Our chapter competes in a variety of intermural sports every semester, Relay for Life, and a ton of philanthropy events!We have girls who participate in all different clubs and teams around campus as well as being active participants in house events!Whether it’s cheering your sisters on at an intermural game, or attending a Fighting Illini basketball game you will always find a great combination of Illini and Sig Delt pride in the Kappa Chapter of SDT!
